Holiday Fair As Easy as Pie at Allerton House  

Early holiday shoppers recently headed to Allerton House Assisted Living Community at Central Park in Weymouth to get a jump on their gift-giving this season. Holiday gift baskets, seasonal wreaths, homemade pies and other crafts were for sale. Many of the items were handmade by residents and all of the proceeds from the Holiday Fair will go toward a local charity. Last year Allerton House made donations to Weymouth’s Sacred Heart Church and First Congregational Church; the Weymouth Food Pantry; Weymouth Council on Aging  and the Weymouth Rotary.

At right, Assisted Living resident Marilyn Ramsey sold pumpkin, apple, pecan and fruits of the forest pies at the recent Allerton House Holiday Fair.  Additionally, the community sold cookies, assorted breads and clam chowder.

Local vendors who participated in the Fair included: Lynn Fratassio, an independent  beauty consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics, Bettina Hoffman of Silpada Jewelry Designs, Owner Mary Fasci of  Floral Designs by Mary, Owner Mark Rothstein of MBR Clothing Designs and Betty Laing of Studio 25 Jewelry.
