Duxbury House provides solutions and support to individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and the families who have been providing their care. Duxbury House is a specialized 23-bed, mid-stage Alzheimer’s Care Center that is Medicaid Certified.
The program features resident-centered care and structured programming within a safe, secure and comfortable environment. Community programming follows the Alzheimer’s Association Habilitation Model, which emphasizes minimizing stress, promoting positive emotions and ensuring each resident reaches their optimal level of success and functioning.
Duxbury House staff have been certified to care for residents with Alzheimer's disease. The small, family-like atmosphere of Duxbury House allows staff and residents to build trust. The staff understand each resident's strength and weaknesses.
A full-time activities coordinator plans a range of activities designed to meet the needs of residents. All staff promote a no-fail philosophy. The focus is on activities such as reminiscing, word-recognition games, crafts and music. A cooking class is held weekly.
If a family member has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or a related memory disorder we can help. Our staff develops individualized care plans to promote independence.
