How are the apartments designed?
All apartments have emergency response systems, cable and television hook-up, showers with built-in seats and adjustable shower heads, as well as grab bars, kitchenettes, wall-to-wall carpeting, individual thermostats for heat/air conditioning control, and closets.
Is there a nurse in the building 24 hours a day?
The Health Services Coordinator, a Registered Nurse, is on-site during business hours Monday through Friday, and is available by pager 24 hours a day. On weekends, an RN or LPN is on-site or available by pager 24 hours a day. CNA'S are available on staff 24 hours a day.
How are Personal Care Attendants trained?
Our Personal Care Attendants have had 40 - 60 hours of Certified Nursing Assistant Training and, in most cases, several years of experience. They receive ongoing training throughout the year.
How is the food?
Food has consistently received high marks. The Community Resident Council meets monthly to discuss several items related to food service and quality. Special dietary needs are available and taken into consideration.
How often are trips planned?
Weekly outings are scheduled to shopping center, movies, restaurants, museums, and seasonal events. In some cases, there will be additional fees charged for outside events.
What happens if I run out of money?
During the application process, finances are reviewed with potential residents and their families.
Why do the rates differ so much at each of the Allerton House communities?
Each Allerton House community offers a different "package" of services. The rates are set according to the location of the community, the services offered, and the specific service plan for each resident.
How do I apply?
Generally, potential residents have a tour of the community prior to initiating the application process.
