The only thing “typical” about the day At Allerton House in Weymouth is that it’s jam-packed with nutritious meals, activities and socializing. Residents begin their day with a delicious, hot made-to-order breakfast, served in our sun-filled dining room. Then it’s off to a full day of crafts, exercise, current events, shopping and restaurant trips, scenic outings, card and word games, religious services, bingo and musical events! Activities take place all day and are personally guided by our activity staff.

At midday, residents enjoy a fabulous lunch. We offer many selections to please our residents and guests! In the afternoon, residents enjoy taking an art or fitness class, walking the beautiful pathways surrounding our scenic residence, or relaxing inside to the sounds of the piano. Then it’s onto dinner. Meal times are social occasions; filled with conversation with friends. Of course, throughout the day our wellness team can provide assistance with medication reminders, escorts to meals and events or bathing & dressing. At the end of the day residents sleep well knowing our caring staff is available round-the-clock.

My mother is having trouble managing her medications can Allerton House Help?

Yes. Our Self-Administered Medication Management Program (SAMM) is included in the care package. The medications are owned by the resident and stored in their apartment. A Resident Assistant provides a reminder that it’s time to take the medication and offers any assistance needed.

My parents need help with bathing and dressing. Do you offer this kind of personal assistance?

Yes. We can help with bathing, dressing, escorts to meals or activities and home-making. Our residency agreements include up to one hour of care every day that may be used throughout the day.

What about payment options?

We can help. At Allerton House there is no buy-in, just a small application fee and then residents rent their apartments and pay by the month. We offer assistance to lower the monthly expenses through a variety of programs, such as The Low Income Housing Tax Credit, Group Adult Foster Care and the VA Benefit. Our trained staff can answer all your questions and help you apply.
